Emerson Anonymous Confession Board
So emerson now has an anonymous confession board. Similar to the ones at Wesleyan and a few other schools if you have heard of them. Basically you can chat/vent/rant with other emerson students about almost anything you want, anonymously. Check it out:

Hello my lovely classmates, I'm unfortunately very late to this LJ party but I'm here nonetheless.

If you're on Facebook, I probably know your name/have talked to you/etc. I'm Kelsey Dooms, commonly referred to as just DOOOOOOOOMS loudly punctuated by a fist pump. I'm a Marketing Comm. major from Wichita, KS and I'm super excited to make Boston my newest home.

Music/movies/TV/etc? Gladly.

Music: Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap, Ben Folds (Five), Bloc Party, Stars, Velvet Underground, Harry and the Potters, NSYNC (don't hate), Belle and Sebastian, Postal Service, the Decemberists, Rocky Votolato, Joshua Radin and pretty much everything else in the world along those lines. No country, very little rap, sprinklings of pop, and that's it.

Movies: Buh. I'm such a non-discriminative movie-viewer, I like pretty much everything. Classics for me include Rushmore, Waiting for Guffman, Garden State, Fargo, Matilda, Pulp Fiction, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Never Been Kissed, the Pianist...everything. Seriously. Except for "Darkness Falls". That was the worst movie I've ever sene.

TV: I watch every TV show. I kid you not. TiVO is a beautiful thing. I see your Heroes, LOST, Veronica Mars, Desperate Housewives, Grey's, House, and Nip/Tuck and raise you Big Brother, The Amazing Race, any Flavor of Love/trashy/ridiculous VH1 reality show, Ace of Cakes, any Bravo reality show (a devoted and fervent fan of Blow Out), Dog the Bounty Hunter, Intervention, etc.

I just wrote the longest entry I've ever written and I'm pretty close to 100% positive that no one will read it.

Either way, I can't wait to meet and talk to every one of you, and feel free to add me on Facebook if you haven't already! I love new friends.

p.s. Having no housing RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey kids!
So, this community is mostly dead - I noticed that during Early Action it was a lot more active. Anyway, I'm Kate, and I was admitted to WLP regular decision. Thought I'd introduce myself since I'm as giddy as, well, a school girl about going to Emerson in September. Feel free to add me, I love new friends.

Name: Kate
Major: WLP
Hometown: Portland, OR
Likes: reading, writing, alternative/indie rock, photography, history, tea, nicotine
Dislikes: science, country and rap, poor spelling and grammar, people who don't leave messages on the answering machine
Reasons I chose Emerson: WLP program, Boston, and the types of people I met at Picture Yourself

Hey everyone!

I joined a little while ago but this is my first post. I got accepted early action December 18th and that is officially my favorite day of the year. To make a long story short: It was my dream school, no one thought I would get in, including my family, and then I got my huge letter and I was like, "TAKE THAT!" and my life is complete.

I'm going in as WLP. Is anyone else? Which accepted student day in April are you guys attending? I can't wait to meet all of you wonderful people :)

One last question. Housing? Any ideas? I'm debating between applying for Writer's Block or not. I can't decide if I'd rather be housed with all my fellow writer's or go into a dorm with some variety. Advice would be appreciated.

Hopefully I'll be seeing you all soon!

Hello everyone,

I have not been excepted... yet.  I have a question for those who got accepted into the performing arts area.

I applied into Theater Studies and I still need to audition. I can't find any good monologues. What did you guys do for your monologues? What other monologues did you look at?

Heeey guys I'm Jill from an oh-so-lovely suburb about 40 minutes away from Boston.  I got accepted into Emerson a couple weeks ago and plan on majoring in Marketing Communications.  I didn't commit just yet because I'm waiting to hear about the Honors Program anddd about my Syracuse app. I'm positive that Emerson is the ooonly place for me though (now only if I could convince my mom that...).  Anyhoo, I'm SO pumped to start next fall. April 3rd Open House, anyone??

oh, and I tend to flail whenever music is around.

Hey guys, I'm Jeannie. :D I got accepted to WLP about a week ago and have been hella psyched ever since! Um, I'm 17, I live in Tokyo, I like bright colors and the internet, and Boston is probably my favorite city in the whole world (even if I only went for like three days when I visited).

See you in August!

Hello All!
Hey Everyone! I plan to double major in Marketing Communications and Broadcast Journalism. I also applied to the honors program, but I guess we don't find out until April... what a let down! Anyway, I'm from Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona.  Are any of you considering going to the thing in April... it's a long journey from AZ, but I suppose could be worth it. Anyway, I'm glad we are all already coming together via lj... it's always intriguing to hear about other future classmates!  I'll look forward to meeting you all in the fall!  Enjoy the holiday season and happy new year to all!

does anyone know about who to let them know you're interested in playing sports.
I checked the website and the forms only seem to be for current students, not prospective ones.

thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm Sara and I was accepted to the Writing, Literature, and Publishing program on Monday. It still hasn't really sunken in yet that I got in. Emerson has been my dream school for the past four years and I am so excited that I will actually be attending. Depending on the day of the week I live in either New Jersey or New York. I go to an all girls private school so I am looking forward to graduating and burning my uniform. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted and good luck to the rest of the people who are still waiting to hear.

Hi, I'm Madeline, I was accepted yesterday, I'm majoring in Political Communication, and... hi. Congratulations to everyone on EA!

So I have a couple of just general questions that probably no one will want to answer:

1. What should I check off on my housing form, in terms of residence halls? I know Piano Row is newer, but does that mean nicer? I though the Little Building was adorable. I was just wondering if anyone knew about anyo real differences, besides that Piano Row is all suites. (I think?)

2. Since I've already applied, is it too late to apply to the Honors Program? I was afraid to before because I thought it would hurt my chances of getting in. Could I maybe just send it in with the regular decision apps?

And for cutesy getting-to-know-you purposes: How did you decide on Emerson? Personally, I read about it in a magazine in fifth grade and, knowing nothing about colleges, decided it was perfect. Since then, I've thought about 900 other schools were perfect for me. And then I ended back up at the first one.
7:45 pm
What's up everyone.
I paid my $500 non-refundable tuition and housing deposit today. Yup, I'm registering.
On Friday, my friend, who also got in, and I will be going to Emerson to buy sweatshirts for ourselves and we're going to drop off our admission reply and housing cards in person. Woohoo!
6:29 pm
Hi! I am Renée. I live in Florida and am very excited about finding a large Emerson envelope stuffed inside my mailbox today.  Also, i'm not sure if i'll be attending here next fall, but i do hope i will.  I would be a Studio Television Production Major.  I'm glad there is a lj community for us!
